Set Rocks

Rocks are goals: the thresholds at which a score becomes Poor, Good and Great. Below Poor, a score is Bad. They grade and color every score, and By Individual Metrics they decide each member’s points. You need the Manager or Admin access level.

  1. Open the ScoreCard: see Set up a ScoreCard.
  2. Find the module’s Rocks table. It shows, for comparison:
    • Nilear Averages: the quartiles across all Nilear customers, used when you set nothing;
    • ScoreCard Averages: this ScoreCard’s members’ quartiles over the past six months.
  3. To set thresholds for the whole ScoreCard, click the edit icon on the ScoreCard Rock row (it shows Not Set) and enter the Poor, Good and Great values.
  4. To set a member’s own thresholds, click the edit icon on their row under By Member. A member’s Rocks override the ScoreCard Rock, which overrides the Nilear Averages. Where data exists, each member’s row shows their own averages and how far they are from the ScoreCard Averages, in brackets.
  5. To remove a Rock, click its trash icon.

You do not need Rocks for every module or every member. Set lower thresholds for a new hire than for a veteran, for example, and raise them over time.

For a module whose scores are entered as Bad, Poor, Good and Great, or Passed and Failed, there are no thresholds to set: the score is the grade.
