Approve a connection

When you add Nilear to an AI client and sign in from it, your browser opens Nilear’s Connect an AI client page: “An AI client is asking to act as you in NilearX.” Nothing is connected until you approve it there.

  1. Sign in if Nilear asks, with your usual Nilear sign-in. The page comes back to the request afterwards.

  2. Check the request. The card Allow client? shows:

    Line What it is
Client The client’s name, and in brackets the site it identifies itself by, such as claude.ai.
Returns to Where your browser goes after you decide.
PSA The PSA the client will act in.
May do “Act as you with level access, reading only what you can read yourself. You can revoke it at any time under AI Clients.”

“Only approve a client you started yourself. Check that the host above is the one you expect.”

  3. Click Approve, or Deny. The button shows Approving… or Denying… until your browser returns to the client.

Approve a request only in the browser where you started it, and within ten minutes: an older request, or one opened in another browser, does not connect.

  • The connection is listed on Account > AI Clients under Your AI clients, and for your administrators under Every member’s AI clients.
  • Approving the same client again for the same PSA reuses its connection. A second client gets a connection of its own.
  • The client stays signed in while you keep using it. If it goes unused for 30 days, it has to sign in again.

“This AI client cannot be connected to this PSA. The request may have expired, External AI may be off for the PSA, or your access may not allow it. Start again from your AI client, or ask your PSA’s Admin.”

The page does not say which, on purpose. Check, in order: that you started from the client in the last ten minutes, that External AI is switched on for your PSA, and that your External AI level is Read Only or above. See Troubleshooting.
