Enter time so schedules sync

Technicians do not use ScheduleSync directly: they enter time on tickets as usual, and their schedule follows. Two habits make sure it follows the right way.

Close the schedule entry when you enter time

Section titled “Close the schedule entry when you enter time”

When you enter time on a ticket in ConnectWise, tick Done with this scheduled event in the time entry window.

A closed (done) schedule entry is moved to your time entry straight away. An entry left open is moved only when it is nearly over, or when the ticket is resolved; until then ScheduleSync waits, because you may still be working to it. See When an entry is moved.

Never reuse a schedule entry once you have worked on it

Section titled “Never reuse a schedule entry once you have worked on it”

If you need to schedule more work on a ticket, create a new schedule entry rather than moving the one you already worked to. An entry ScheduleSync has matched to a time entry stays matched to it: if you drag it to another day, it is left where you put it, and ScheduleSync adds a new entry for the time you already worked.

  • Time entered through MTX: MTX keeps those schedules itself.
  • Time on activities: ScheduleSync works on tickets only.
  • Time entries more than 7 days old, entries with no work type, and entries of zero hours.
  • Time entries made by the LabTech or Kaseya integrations.
