Timesheet scoring
Three scoring modules score the time your team records in ConnectWise. They count minutes, so recording all your work, accurately and on time, is what scores.
What earns points
Section titled “What earns points”| Module | Earns points for |
|---|---|
| Timesheets | Each minute recorded on a work type flagged Technical, and each minute of project work, billable or not. A billable entry on a work type not flagged either way also counts. Project minutes count 1.2 points each. |
| Ticket Timesheets | Each minute recorded against a ticket, whatever its work type. Time not against a ticket earns nothing, except time on a Holiday work type. |
| Work Types | Each minute recorded, times the work type’s Points per Minute, whether the work type is Technical or Administrative. For example, Sales: Face-to-Face could be worth five times Sales: Call. |
In every module, travel time counts at three quarters of its minutes.
Which work types are Technical or Administrative, and each one’s Points per Minute, are set in Nilear under Settings, Work Types.
What a correction costs
Section titled “What a correction costs”When a time reviewer changes a time entry, points are deducted from it:
| Change by the time reviewer | Deduction |
|---|---|
| Billable changed to non-billable (Timesheets) | The entry no longer counts, and 10 points are deducted. |
| Non-billable changed to billable (not on a project) | The entry’s minutes are subtracted instead of added: minus 1 point a minute. |
| Internal notes changed | Half the entry’s points; a quarter if the change moved password details into the internal notes. On an entry that earns nothing, 10 points. |
| Notes corrected | 10 points, more for larger corrections, never more than the entry earned. |
| Any other change, such as the work type | A quarter of the entry’s points. |
| A change to an entry that earns nothing | 5 points. |
Two more deductions need no reviewer:
- Blank billable entry: a billable entry without notes, other than travel, earns half its points.
- Late submission: an entry submitted for approval after its due date loses a quarter of its points.
Entries on work types for time away or non-client time (names containing PTO, Sick, Vacation, Holiday, On-Call, Oncall, Personal, Training, Conference, Meeting, Absent or Paid Time Off) are never reduced.
Acknowledging a modification
Section titled “Acknowledging a modification”On a member’s Timesheet or Ticket Timesheet report, the owner of a modified time entry can click Acknowledge Modification(s). That removes the deductions for modifications. The deduction for a late submission stays. Only the owner of the time entry can acknowledge it. See Read your scores.
Keys to success
Section titled “Keys to success”- Don’t spend time on an issue without tracking it to a ticket.
- Choose the right work type: Onsite, Remote, Communication, Admin, Emergency.
- Write clear notes that will not need correcting.
- Submit your timesheet on time.
