Clean up inactive contacts
Over time a client’s ConnectWise company collects inactive contacts: duplicates of people who are still there, and people who left without ever raising a ticket. Inactive Contact Cleanup finds them and, after you review the plan, merges or deletes them in ConnectWise.
- Open the company’s Settings and select Inactive Contact Cleanup.
- Click Analyze Inactive Contacts. ConnectActive lists the inactive contacts it would remove, each with a reason and an action plan, and those it would leave as they are.
- Check the list. Click SKIP on any contact to leave it alone (UNDO brings it back).
- Click COMMIT. STOP halts it part way. When it ends, it says Process Completed!
What it plans
Section titled “What it plans”| Reason | Plan |
|---|---|
| No records associated with Inactive Contact | Delete the contact |
| Matched by email address … | Merge it into the active contact with that address |
| Matched by first and last name | Merge it into the active contact with that name |
| Multiple Active Contacts matched … | Left as is: ConnectActive cannot tell which to merge into |
| Has historical records | Left as is |
Deleting and merging change ConnectWise and cannot be undone from ConnectActive. Review the plan before you commit.
