ScoreBooks and ScoreCards
ScoreBooks
Section titled “ScoreBooks”A ScoreBook is one team scored together. It holds:
- its members, chosen from your ConnectWise members;
- its scoring method, By Rankings or By Individual Metrics;
- its ScoreCards, one after another, usually one a month.
A ScoreBook is not active until it has at least one member and one ScoreCard; its edit page says which is missing. Once it has both, its Active checkbox switches it on and off. A deactivated ScoreBook is no longer listed with the others; see Manage a ScoreBook.
ScoreCards and weeks
Section titled “ScoreCards and weeks”A ScoreCard covers a run of weeks, from its Starting Time Period to its Ending Time Period. Each week runs from Sunday to Saturday, and a ScoreCard typically starts and ends within the same month. Scores are kept week by week, and the ScoreCard adds them up under Final Rankings (By Rankings) or Final Points (By Individual Metrics).
Because each ScoreCard has its own modules and weights, you can change what is scored from one month to the next without changing the past. A new ScoreCard starts with the previous one’s modules, weights and Rocks. With Auto Generate Future ScoreCards ticked, Nilear adds the next ScoreCard for you.
Scoring modules and weights
Section titled “Scoring modules and weights”Each module on a ScoreCard has a Scoring Weight from 1 to 5, or none (the ban symbol), which gives it no weight. A module’s share of the score depends on how many modules the ScoreCard has and how much weight each is given: give a higher weight to the modules you want to emphasize. The ScoreCard’s table shows each module’s resulting share beside its name, such as 25% for each of four equally weighted modules.
The two scoring methods
Section titled “The two scoring methods”| By Rankings | By Individual Metrics | |
|---|---|---|
| How a member scores | Ranked against the other members in each module; the weighted ranks give the member’s place. | Scored against goals, called Rocks, on their own 0-100 scale. |
| Recommended for | A team with similar responsibilities, such as a help desk. | Members whose work differs and cannot fairly be compared. |
| Final column | Rank | Total |
Rocks: Bad, Poor, Good and Great
Section titled “Rocks: Bad, Poor, Good and Great”Rocks are the thresholds that grade a score as Bad, Poor, Good or Great, and color it red, amber, blue or green on the ScoreCard. For each module of a ScoreCard you see:
- Nilear Averages: the quartiles across all Nilear customers. When you set no Rocks, these grade the scores (and, By Individual Metrics, decide the points).
- ScoreCard Averages: the quartiles of this ScoreCard’s members over the past six months.
- ScoreCard Rock: your own thresholds for the whole ScoreCard, overriding the Nilear Averages.
- By Member: thresholds for one member, overriding both. Where data exists, each member’s own averages and their difference from the ScoreCard Averages are shown.
You need not set Rocks for every module or every member. For example, set lower thresholds for a new hire than for a veteran, and raise them over time. See Set Rocks.
Who sees which scores
Section titled “Who sees which scores”- Managers and Admins see every ScoreBook and every score.
- Other members see the ScoreBooks they are in, or every ScoreBook if their Any ScoreBook setting is Yes.
- In a week that has not ended, a member sees only their own scores; the others show a lock until the week is over.
See Access.
