Set availability rights
A member’s availability is their status (such as Lunch, Away From Keyboard or Gone for the Day), their work location and their active role. By default every member sees everyone’s availability and may change it. You can limit that for the whole company or member by member. You need Nilear’s Admin access level.
These rights are set on the Members page of Nilear’s account area, at my.nilear.com, on its Classic settings tab. In MTX’s Settings, My Tickets, the Restrict Viewing Availability of Others link opens the same page, already signed in.
For the whole company
Section titled “For the whole company”In the Defaults row, under Availability status, set Restrict availability to Yes. Every member who is not exempt then sees and changes only their own availability. It is a company-wide setting, not a default, so changing it asks nothing about existing members.
Member by member
Section titled “Member by member”Set a member’s Availability status:
| Choice | The member may |
|---|---|
| Anyone’s | See and change every member’s availability. |
| Update own only | See every member, change only their own. |
| See own only | See and change only their own. |
| Default | Take the Availability status default from the Defaults row. With none set, Anyone’s. |
Who is never restricted
Section titled “Who is never restricted”- Everyone may always see and change their own availability.
- Members whose Nilear access level is Admin or Manager see every member and may change another member’s availability, whatever is set here.
What a restricted member sees
Section titled “What a restricted member sees”- On the Availability board, their own row only, without the team chips and status filter.
- No cancel control on another member’s status they may not change.
- In the Time Machine, only their own chip or strip. Restrict Chips and Strips on Time Machine in My Tickets limits chips and strips the same way on its own, without hiding anyone’s availability.
Related member settings
Section titled “Related member settings”Also on the Classic settings tab:
| Column | What it does |
|---|---|
| Availability board | Hidden leaves the member off the Availability board for everyone else. |
| Non-ticket user | For staff who do not work tickets: during working hours their status reads In instead of Waiting, Inactive or M.I.A., and they are not prompted about ticket work. |
An AI client connected through External AI applies the same rights: see Check and change availability.
