Which configuration types apply to a company

Section titled “Which configuration types apply to a company”

A configuration type applies to a company when either:

  • the company has active configurations of that type; or
  • one of the type’s ticked Company Types is the company’s type, or one of its ticked Agreement Types matches an agreement of the company that is not cancelled and has not ended.

The checklist lists active companies of a ticked company type, or with a current agreement of a ticked agreement type.

A type that a company is required to have, but of which it has no active configuration, counts as one Missing.

Each active configuration counts as one Warning when any of these is true:

  • a field ticked as required on its type is empty: Warranty Date, Purchased Date, Serial #, Model #, Manufacturer or Contact;
  • a required question of its type is unanswered;
  • its review is due;
  • another configuration has the same name.

A configuration whose name contains n/a is never counted as a warning. Date Installed and Tag #, when ticked, show as columns on the type’s page but do not make a configuration a warning.

A company’s score starts at 100 and loses:

  • its share of required types that are missing, and
  • a quarter of its share of active configurations with a warning.

So a company missing one of its two required types, with no warnings, scores 50; a company with every type, where 4 of its 8 configurations have a warning, scores 87. The score never goes below 0, and a company with nothing required and no configurations scores 100.
