Map contacts to sites
For a client with branch offices, ConnectActive can set each contact’s ConnectWise Site, so a technician sent on site goes to the right address. It sets the site of new and existing contacts.
What you map depends on the company’s sources:
| Sources | Map sites by |
|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 / Entra ID only | Group or Assigned License, including dynamic groups such as an office location |
| Active Directory or Google Workspace included | Organizational Unit |
Map sites
Section titled “Map sites”- Open the company’s Settings and select Site Mapping.
- For each group, license or OU, choose a site in Selected Site to Map. The list shows the ConnectWise company’s sites; an inactive one is marked INACTIVE.
- Optionally, choose a Default Site for Contacts for each source: the site of contacts that no mapping places.
- Click Perform Sync, check the site changes on the Review Form, and click COMMIT (Review and commit a sync).
From then on, each sync keeps the sites in step when a user’s group, license or OU changes.
If a user belongs to several groups or licenses mapped to different sites, ConnectActive cannot guarantee which of those sites it sets. Map so that each user falls under one site.
Addresses from Microsoft 365
Section titled “Addresses from Microsoft 365”When a Microsoft 365 user has address details filled in, ConnectActive also tries to match the address to one of the company’s ConnectWise sites. Active Directory has no such address, so this applies only to companies that sync Microsoft 365.
