Find a configuration

The Configs tab works with your ConnectWise configurations: the devices, accounts and other items you look after for your customers. It has three parts: Search, Review and Create.

The Configs tab on Search: the Search, Clear and Create buttons, the columns button, and the column titles Configuration, Type, Company, Status (filtered to leave out Inactive), Serial #, Tag #, Model #, Warranty, Purchased, Created, Site, Location, Department, Contact, Last Login, MAC, IP Address and Device #.

  1. Type in the filter row under any column title: the configuration’s name, its company, a serial number, an IP address, and so on. Status leaves out inactive configurations to start with.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Click a configuration to open it.

Clear empties the filters. The columns button chooses and orders the columns, your ConnectWise configuration custom fields included, and the list remembers your choice wherever you sign in.

  • Manage and Remote, on server and workstation configurations, open the device’s management console and remote session in a new browser tab, when your RMM has filled in those links in ConnectWise.
  • You can create a ticket from the configuration; the configuration is attached to the new ticket.
  • Create adds a configuration.
  • Review lists the configuration review tickets, those whose source is configuration review, for working through your customers’ configurations.

A ticket’s Configs tab, in its summary and in the working view, shows the configurations attached to it and lets you attach more. Your company may require a configuration on service, monitoring and project tickets before wrap-up; MTX then asks you to attach one, and you may decline.
