The client index
Client Mapper answers maps from its own index of your ConnectWise companies, contacts and agreements. That is why counting a map, refining it and opening it never wait on ConnectWise, however many clients you have.
Indexing, the first time
Section titled “Indexing, the first time”Until your company has an index, Client Mapper says Client Mapper needs to index your clients first, with a Start indexing button. Anyone who can use Client Mapper can start it. Indexing:
- runs on Nilear’s servers and only reads your ConnectWise;
- carries on if you leave the page or close the browser; anyone who opens Client Mapper meanwhile sees the same progress;
- goes in three phases, Companies, Contacts and Agreements, each shown as Waiting, in progress with the number indexed (and a percentage when ConnectWise gave a total), or Done;
- shows an Estimate of the time left once a phase has run for a little while.
Queued: indexing will begin shortly. means it has been asked for and has not started yet. When indexing finishes, the maps open without a reload. A large ConnectWise can take a while; it happens once.
A ConnectWise without Agreements shows that phase as done, with what it indexed, when indexing finishes.
What the index holds
Section titled “What the index holds”| Of | It holds |
|---|---|
| Companies | Identifier, name, status, types, territory, market, marketing groups, custom field values, and sites with their addresses |
| Contacts | Their company, whether inactive, types and custom field values. Never names, email addresses or phone numbers |
| Agreements | Their company, type, dates and whether cancelled |
Keeping it current
Section titled “Keeping it current”After the first indexing, changes in ConnectWise reach the index on their own: a company’s new site, a changed type or group, a new contact, an agreement ending. Nobody needs to start indexing again. An agreement’s active or not is judged from its dates when the map is counted, so an agreement that ended yesterday no longer counts today.
When the index is removed
Section titled “When the index is removed”The index is kept while your company uses Client Mapper. If no map is created or opened for 90 days, the index is removed. Saved maps are kept. The next person to open Client Mapper sees Your PSA’s index was removed because no map was created or opened for 90 days. and can start indexing again.
